This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload of private client matters while contributing to the departments growth and the firms continued reputation for excellence.The RoleThe successful candidate will be confident, proactive, and well-organised, with proven expertise in a broad range of private client work, including:
- Drafting Wills, including those incorporating trusts for complex family arrangements
- Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax planning
- Preparing and registering Powers of Attorney, EPAs and LPAs
- Court of Protection matters
- Administration of taxable and non-taxable estates
- Advising on and identifying trust administration requirements
- Provide an ongoing, high-quality service to existing clients
- Collaborate with partners and fee earners to develop new business
- Contribute to departmental growth and client development
- Meet agreed fee income targets
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation and best practice
- Maintain strong financial control, including billing and cash flow management
- Carry out fee-earning work in accordance with quality and risk management procedures
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive
- Significant experience in private client law, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, estate administration, tax planning, and trusts
- Strong organisational and caseload management skills
- Excellent understanding of Money Laundering Regulations and Solicitors Account Rules
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and clients with mental capacity issues
- IT literate, including experience with case management systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- STEP qualification or willingness to work towards it
- Experience with agricultural estates and/or high-net-worth clients
- Supervisory experience
- Marketing, business development, and public speaking skills
- Existing client following
- Professional, proactive, and positive approach
- High level of integrity, empathy, and client care
- Resilient and able to work well under pressure
- Full driving licence and access to a car for inter-office travel and client meetings
