ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL
CRIMINAL BUREAU
ENTERPRISE & MAJOR CRIMES DIVISION

The Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is looking for a highly motivated attorney with extensive prosecutorial experience to handle narcotics and firearms investigations and cases within the Enterprise & Major Crimes Division of the Criminal Bureau. The Criminal Bureau is staffed by a group of experienced prosecutors who partner with intelligence analysts, financial investigators, Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Attorney General's Office, and local, state, and federal investigative and enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute large-scale narcotics trafficking organizations and firearms investigations throughout the Commonwealth.
Primary Duties:
The Assistant Attorney General will handle a large caseload of primarily narcotics and firearms-related matters from investigation through sentencing. The work involves extensive collaboration with law enforcement, grand jury investigations throughout the Commonwealth, complex motion practice, and frequent appearances before the Commonwealth's District and Superior Courts for motions, pleas, and trials. Responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to:
* Leading investigations conducted with the assistance of Massachusetts State Police Troopers assigned to the Attorney General's Office, as well as investigators from other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, such as the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration;
* Reviewing all search warrants sought in connection with these investigations, which include, but are not limited to, GPS tracking, "ping" and cell-site simulator, cell-site location information (CSLI), and wiretap warrants;
* Extensive grand jury practice, including, but not limited to, immunization of witnesses, working with civilian witnesses/victims, and working with victim witness advocates;
* Handling all phases of litigation for cases stemming from these investigations in Superior Court, including motions to suppress, trials, and related civil forfeiture claims.

The Assistant Attorney General hired for this position would be able to work out of the Boston office or one of the regional offices which are located in Springfield, New Bedford, and Worcester. Our hybrid model may include some telework days for the successful candidate. For the first six months in the position, the Assistant Attorney General will be expected to work in office at least three or four days per week.
Salary: $84,134 to $125,572, commensurate with JD year and experience.
