Position Summary
Under general supervision, Counsel, Oliver Wyman Group (OWG) provides general advice and support on a wide range of legal issues to the OWG businesses in the Americas. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing and negotiating a high volume of client and third‑party agreements—client services agreements, master service agreements, statements of work, confidentiality agreements, release letters, software development and licensing agreements, vendor agreements, data‑processing addenda, collaboration agreements and other legal documents.
The ideal candidate identifies liability exposures and offers practical, creative solutions to manage risk and support growth. The Counsel works from the Boston office at least three days a week and reports to a Senior Assistant General Counsel or an Assistant General Counsel on the team.

Key Responsibilities- Provide corporate advice and support on a wide range of legal issues and projects to the OWG businesses in the Americas.
- Negotiate and draft various types of legal documents including contracts, memos, subcontracts, vendor agreements, and other legal documents.
- Analyze new and changing laws and regulations.
- Identify liability exposure and provide creative solutions to manage and reduce risk.
- Interact with outside counsel for OWG as well as outside counsel for adverse parties.
- Conduct negotiations with external third parties, elevating unresolved legal issues to other members of the legal department as appropriate.
- Provide business colleagues with practical advice and guidance and develop solutions while balancing business and legal considerations.
- Interpret and explain contract terms to internal business colleagues.
- Assist with responding to RFP proposals to prospective clients.
- Manage workflow effectively in a proactive and responsive manner.
- Bachelor’s or university degree required.
- Law degree required.
- Minimum of four years of legal experience at a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Qualified and licensed to practice law under local statutes, rules and regulations.
- Good judgment, financial acumen, strong communication skills and collaborative ability.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical ability.
- Sound judgment and discretion with highly confidential information.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
- Fluency with business issues and the ability to formulate legal solutions based on both client and Oliver Wyman priorities.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $110,100 to $220,100. Base pay will be determined by experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education and applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to base salary, the position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
