We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to lead and manage complex, high visibility Projects supporting defense customers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the cost, schedule, technical performance, and execution of assigned Projects from the inception through completion. This role is critical to achieving organizational goals related to orders, revenue, operating income and cash flow.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage small-medium, software-centric programs across all phases-proposal, development, production, and sustainment, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule and performance objectives.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Direct cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, administrative, etc.) to meet project objectives.
• Lead proposal development, including work statements, specifications, budgets, and contractual terms and conditions.
• Coordinate strategy, captures, and proposals for new business pursuits; contribute to performance targets.
• Monitor project execution and resolve issues by conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and manage project financials, schedules, risk assessments, and change control processes.
• Conduct executive-level briefings and communicate project status and issues to senior leadership.
• Participate in contract negotiations, modifications, and customer reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement and leverage data-driven decision-making to enhance project performance.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience on software-centric technical programs in support of DoD customers.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven Project Management experience leading DoD projects/programs.
• Demonstrated success executing projects over $10M in value with disciplined scope, cost, and schedule management.
• Knowledge of multiple contract types, including Time & Material, Fixed Price and Cost Plus.
• Strong experience managing multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders across multiple cultures.
• Expertise in Export Licensing, Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs), and compliance.
• Active DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance is required.
• Proven ability to influence and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in computer science or related field
• PMP certification (or equivalent)
• Experience with full DoD program lifecycle – Acquisition, Development, Integration, Test, Deployment, and Sustainment (Training and Logistics).
• Experience with international military customers.
• Demonstrated Capture Management experience, including winning new business and leading proposals.
• Strong executive presence with experience briefing corporate and customer senior leadership.
Travel:
This position will likely involve travel to customers and non-customer sites principally in North America (10-20%) but global travel is also possible.
Other Criteria:
Strongly prefer domicile near the Boston/Cambridge metro area but will consider non-local domicile – relocation to Boston area part of compensation package, if necessary
US Citizenship required
Security clearance (active or previous) or the ability to obtain and maintain one if desired.
Salary Range: $100,000-$200,000
