This is a senior engineering role within a core investment technology group responsible for building the systems that underpin a large-scale, systematic investment process.

You’ll work on mission-critical platforms that support research, trading, and portfolio operations across a global investment footprint. The focus is on automation, scalability, and resilience — building systems that can handle complex data flows, large universes, and tight operational windows.

This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership. You’ll influence architecture, mentor engineers, and take ownership of systems that matter.

• Designing and building features across core investment platforms
• Automating complex investment and operational workflows
• Improving system performance, reliability, and scalability
• Modernising legacy systems into cloud-native architectures
• Building and supporting data-heavy, production-grade applications
• Leading projects and mentoring engineers across the team
• Supporting production issues with a strong sense of urgency

• Senior-level experience building complex software systems
• Strong proficiency in Python or another object-oriented language
• Deep experience with cloud platforms and modern infrastructure
• Strong understanding of databases, data processing, and analytics tooling
• Proven ability to design and deliver scalable, resilient solutions
• Comfortable owning systems end-to-end in a production environment
• Clear communicator who works well across engineering and business teams

Experience in asset management or financial services is helpful, but not essential.

• Significant professional experience in full-stack or backend engineering
• Track record of modernising systems and improving platform quality
