The postholder owns day-to-day Run / Train category planning and execution across product storytelling, key launches, consumer experiences, specialty and wholesale needs, DTC priorities, communications, and media.

The role serves as the category expert and cross-functional integrator, ensuring plans are insight-led, clearly prioritised, and delivered consistently across consumer touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead annual and seasonal marketing planning for Running and Training, aligned with category strategy, consumer priorities, product launches, and commercial objectives.
  • Translate global direction into relevant North America plans, briefs, launch strategies, activation priorities, channel guidance, and success measures.
  • Develop audience, insight, positioning, messaging, and product storytelling frameworks that build performance credibility and consumer demand.
  • Own integrated go-to-market execution for priority Run / Train franchises, campaigns, athletes, events, and seasonal brand moments.
  • Partner with Communications & Influence, Creative, Media, Social, DTC, Visual Experience, Sports Marketing, Wholesale, and Consumer Journey teams to deliver connected plans across earned, owned, paid, retail, experiential, partner, and community touchpoints.
  • Partner closely with the Head of Marketing, Run Specialty & Tech Reps to connect specialty distribution, technical product education, field activation, performance credibility, and consumer demand generation.
  • Collaborate with Wholesale and Account Marketing teams to translate Run / Train priorities into strategic account plans, retail programmes, specialty initiatives, sell-in tools, consumer events, and seasonal activations.
  • Serve as the internal Run / Train category expert, monitoring consumer behaviour, athlete and fitness culture, marketplace dynamics, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to inform recommendations.
  • Lead agencies and cross-functional work streams, managing scope, timelines, deliverables, risks, and decision points while keeping the Teamhead informed.
  • Manage assigned budgets, KPI tracking, campaign recaps, and post-season learning, using performance insights to optimise future plans and investment.
  • Deliver clear, insight-led seasonal Run / Train plans aligned to category and business priorities, with plans and deliverables completed on time, within budget, and against defined KPIs.
  • Drive increased consumer relevance, performance credibility, and engagement across Running and Training through the successful delivery of priority product launches, campaigns, events, and marketplace moments.
  • Ensure strong integration across marketing functions, specialty, DTC, wholesale, and account teams, and generate actionable post-campaign learning that contributes measurably to brand and commercial objectives.

  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives, agencies, budgets, timelines, and multiple concurrent work streams.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across marketing, product, merchandising, sales, retail, sports marketing, and global or regional teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking, project leadership, communication, presentation, and executive-ready storytelling skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate consumer, category, marketplace, and campaign performance data into clear actions and recommendations.
