Registered Nurse, Operating Room (24 hours/week, Call required)

Position Overview

Location: Operating Room – BMC Brighton
Schedule: 24 Hours per week, Days (Call required)

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
  • Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families.
  • Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
  • Update and manage patient records.
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by the BMC‑Brighton nursing organization.
  • Assist the leadership team with quality improvement projects.
Education & Certifications
  • Nursing degree:
    Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
  • Licensed to practice nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • CNOR certification (preferred).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of registered nurse experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of operating room experience (2 years preferred).
  • Must be experienced in a circulating role.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certification required for certain areas.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in another language is a plus.

Compensation
