Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical ICU Stepdown

36 Hour Nights

7pm – 7am, With Every Other Weekend

This 38-bed unit provides care for intermediate level surgical patients. Expected patient population consists of post-operative patients requiring intermediate level care, either directly transferred from the PACU or in the SICU. Specialties include cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, trauma and transplant patients.

• IMCU core competencies
• CAPD
• Post-operative care of cardiac surgery patients (post ICU)
• Care of the ventilated patient
• Care of the thoracic surgery patients
• Hemodynamic monitoring: arterial lines
• Stable doses of dopamine, neo-synephrine, diltiazem, dobutamine, nitroglycerine (non-titrated)
• Care of post-operative cervical spine and traumatic brain injured patients (post SICU)
• Post-SICU care of esophagectomy, laryngectomy, or major oromaxillary surgery
• Post-operative renal transplant
• Continuous renal replacement therapies
• Care of high-risk OB patients

• MA RN License
• 2 Years Acute Care Experience
• BSN Degree Preferred
