Position Summary
We are looking for an Advanced Practice Nurse to work within our Float Pool. The role requires integration of knowledge, research, and experience to promote excellence in patient care and improve outcomes. It demands clear communication and collaboration with the health‑care team, appropriate consultation and use of resources to meet patient needs, and active participation in patient discharge planning. Flexibility, excellent clinical, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a complete history and physical exam and interpret findings.
- Diagnose and manage common clinical problems of the identified patient population.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate treatment plans in an interdisciplinary manner.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies and therapeutic interventions necessary to augment the patient’s physical findings and treatment plan; communicate these findings to the health‑care team, patients, and families.
- Participate in discharge planning with the health‑care team.
- Write orders, prescriptions, and progress notes in the patient’s medical record; create patient discharge summaries and communicate them to primary‑care providers.
- Participate in daily patient‑care rounds, interdisciplinary conferences, and teaching activities of the service.
- Communicate the patient’s condition and plan of care to the patient and family; engage in health teaching and counseling with the patient and their family in collaboration with the health‑care team.
- Perform selected diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Participate in formal and informal teaching activities with staff nurses, physicians, interns, residents, and other members of the health‑care team.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with the health‑care team and appropriately consult and utilize resources to meet the patient’s needs.
- Maintain clinical competency and ongoing professional development through continuing education, professional activities, and self‑evaluation.
- Work 36 hours per week with a 50% day/night rotation and every third weekend; float APRNs will not be required to work holidays.
Base pay range: $/yr – $/yr.
Specialty differential: $8/hour.
Sign‑on bonus offered up to $15,000.

Minimum Qualifications- Education: Master of Science in Nursing
- Experience: 1–3 years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred;
Pediatric experience preferred - Licensure/Certification: Current Massachusetts NP license;
Certification as a Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner
