location & schedulelocation: medical surgical – general med surg unit, m6e (36‑bed, 6 east).
schedule: 36 hrs. Nights, alternating weekend/holiday shifts.
the 6 east unit cares for a wide range of general medical diagnoses. Candidates should bring cultural competence, professional integrity, and a passion for varied clinical experiences.
position summaryas an rn in the medical surgical unit, you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care within a supportive nursing organization. Your duties include direct patient care, collaboration with the health‑care team, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
job responsibilities- deliver nursing care in the medical surgical unit, including assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education of patients.
- communicate with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
- coordinate and delegate appropriate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
- update and manage patient records and interpret computerized data/information.
- follow guidelines and policies established by bmc’s nursing organization.
- assist the leadership team as needed in quality‑improvement projects.
- licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the commonwealth of massachusetts.
- 1+ year rn experience preferred.
- certified in basic life support (bls); advanced cardiac life support (acls) required in certain units.
- rn degree: diploma, asn, or bsn (preferred). Ability to obtain a bsn within 4 years.
- relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certifications required for specific practice areas.
- effective verbal and written communication skills.

$38.05 – $75.33 per hour. This range reflects education, experience, licensure, and certifications directly related to the position.
