Job Summary

RN Infusion - MGH 40-hours (4–10-hour shifts) Monday through Friday set schedule and one weekend a month required. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years RN Oncology/Oncology Infusion experience. The oncology practices within the Division of Hematology and Oncology refer adult cancer patients to the Infusion Unit for treatment with, and management of, toxicities from chemotherapy and biotherapy. Patients are followed throughout the entire trajectory of their illness: diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation, long‑term follow‑up, and when necessary, palliative care.

The Oncology Infusion Unit has a strong commitment to primary nursing. RN's are responsible for patient education, medication administration, symptom management, and documentation of toxicities for those patients participating in clinical trials as well as those patients receiving standard regimens. RNs support the organizational mission and the Cancer Center investment in clinical research. In tandem with the Cancer Center Protocol Office and the Research Manager, RNs participate in the administration of all phases of clinical trials in which their primary patients may be enrolled.

Led by a Nursing Director, assisted by two Clinical Nurse Specialists, this team establishes standards of care, initiating quality improvement projects, and setting and supporting the overall tone for patient care. The unit has 18 beds and 42 chairs.
