RN - Echocardiography - MGH

The RN in the Echocardiography Laboratory at MGH is responsible for providing competent and compassionate nursing care to patients undergoing echocardiogram visits. This role is ideal for experienced nurses with advanced knowledge of cardiac care who thrive in a collaborative environment.

  Full-Time, 36 hours per week - 4 - 9 hour shifts

• Provide competent, compassionate nursing care based on scientific principles and nursing process.
• Recognize, assess, and respond to acute clinical issues, including chest pain and arrhythmias.
• Perform nursing functions during stress echocardiography, including exercise and pharmacological stress testing.
• Conduct transesophageal echocardiography and maintain education related to procedural sedation.
• Manage flow into and out of the Holding Area and assist in evaluation of acute patient issues.
• Educate patients about stress tests and document relevant information in patient charts.
• Collaborate with other professionals and direct nonprofessional personnel in maintaining standards.
• Participate in daily operational activities necessary for a safe patient/staff environment.
• Maintain and update clinical knowledge and skills based on current nursing education practices.

• Education:
  
  Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Experience:
  
  3+ years of clinical nursing experience required

  Current MA Registered Nurse License required
