The facility operates as a large hospital within an academic health system, providing a broad range of specialized clinical services supported by established protocols and infrastructure. The hematology clinic is staffed by 12-13 physicians, with possible RN support and administrative personnel to facilitate coordinated patient care delivery. The facility maintains the clinical resources necessary to support locum tenens clinicians across all assigned coverage periods.

The assignment area offers clinicians access to a range of cultural and recreational attractions suited to varied interests. Public green spaces such as the Public Garden and The Fens, which features the Victory Gardens and Kelleher Rose Gardens, provide outdoor leisure options. Notable museums including the Museum of Fine Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and the Museum of Science are available, alongside landmarks such as the Boston Public Library and the historic Freedom Trail.

The North End neighborhood is recognized for its architecture and dining, and harbor cruises along the waterfront offer an additional way to explore the area during time away from clinical duties.

Clinicians will provide on-site outpatient hematology coverage within an ambulatory clinic setting, working full-time on a schedule of five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week, with a hybrid onsite/tele arrangement available. The clinical scope is focused on benign hematology, encompassing the evaluation and management of conditions including ambulatory hematology, anticoagulation, sickle cell disease, and bleeding disorders; a leukemia background is also considered beneficial.

No call or weekend coverage is required for this assignment. All clinical documentation must be maintained through the EPIC EMR system for all patient encounters.
