Are you mission-driven and interested in working in community veterinary medicine? The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL), one of New England’s leading animal welfare organizations, is seeking Veterinary Technicians to join our Community & Shelter Medicine team. We have multiple positions open with a variety of schedules available.

Who we are:

Pets are family. This belief is at the heart of everything we do at the Animal Rescue League of Boston. We are the first female-founded animal welfare organization in Massachusetts and are proud to carry on a legacy of kindness and compassion, helping more than 20,000 animals annually since 1899. Recognized for our innovative, award-winning programs that go beyond sheltering, we address the root causes of the issues facing animals and the people who love them.

By partnering with communities, we help animals heal and thrive, keep pets and people together, and protect animals from harm.

The Community and Shelter Medicine team provides medical and surgical care to animals in our three Animal Care and Adoption Centers (Boston, Dedham, and Brewster) as well as to animals and their families in the communities where they live through our mobile wellness and spay/neuter programs the Wellness Waggin' and Spay Waggin'. We are a close-knit team practicing high-quality medicine every day.

What we offer:

  • Paid time off, including holidays, vacation, sick, personal days;
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance;
  • Retirement plan with employer matching program;
  • Generous pet care reimbursement and discounts;
  • The opportunity to work with a great team of colleagues who give their all every day!

Use your skills to make a difference by becoming a part of one of the best and oldest animal welfare organizations! Here’s how:

  • Assist in all aspects of veterinary care, including shelter and community medicine, HVHQSN, dentistry, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgery;
  • Be encouraged to share your thoughts to improve how we deliver our best care and service;
  • Help us improve our services and continue to learn and grow as a team of caring animal welfare professionals in a supportive and fun working environment!
