Anatomic Pathology Supervisor (Grossing/Autopsy)
Boston, MA | Full-time | Day Shift | Pay Range: $ – $ USD
Under the Direction of the Anatomic Pathology Manager, an Anatomic Pathology Supervisor provides leadership and oversight in the areas of Grossing, Autopsy, Histology, Cytology, Digital Pathology, and Send-out Testing.
Essential Responsibilities- Maintain effective workflow and operations; act as an expert resource within specialty areas.
- Recommend and prepare Standard Operating Procedures; provide training in area of expertise.
- Oversee scheduling and payroll; communicate feedback to manager and direct reports.
- Provide training and leadership to support team.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and seek ways to improve performance and service.
- Submit performance assessment documentation to Human Resources on time.
- Direct and support employees daily work activities; responsible for hiring, termination, corrective action, and performance reviews.
- Assist in planning, monitoring, or managing budget in functional area of department.
- Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (e.g., Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL), Pathologist Assistant (PA), Cytotechnologist (CT)).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a high‑complexity Anatomic Pathology Lab (Surgical Pathology, Histology, and/or Cytology).
- Demonstrated leadership skills; experience leading and mentoring teams and projects.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); ability to produce complex documents and maintain databases.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an NAACLS‑accredited histology technician program or a regionally accredited college/university.

Physical Nature of the JobMedium work. Exerts up to 50 lb of force occasionally and up to 20 lb frequently. Requirements include standing and moving throughout the majority of the shift.
