We are seeking a rigorous, investigative Scientific Editor with excellent research and communication skills to join the Drug Hunter team. The Scientific Editor will research, write, edit, and commission articles on cutting‑edge small molecule therapeutics, with a focus on conveying information efficiently and information‑richly. Scientific rigor, a clear communication style, and attention to detail are “must‑have” attributes of the successful candidate.

• Efficiently conduct research using reputable primary sources, peer‑reviewed journals, databases, expert interviews, FDA and other government documents, and other primary sources to support statements of fact in research articles with rigorous interpretation of data.
• Clearly present and communicate complex, scientific information in easy‑to‑read, digestible short‑form articles, slide presentations, and infographics, while preserving the scientific accuracy of underlying data.
• Contribute high‑quality feature articles, editorial articles, and perspective articles of interest to pharmaceutical professionals, and provide briefs and article proposals to the editorial team based on industry insights.
• Write and speak in tones of voice appropriate for audiences at different levels, from students, to early‑career scientists, to industry professionals and investors, with empathy to the underlying needs of the audience.
• Quickly and accurately prepare chemical schemes, tables, figures, and illustrations using chemical drawing software such as Chem Draw, in line with Drug Hunter’s visual identity.
• Review, edit, and fact‑check the research of contributing authors or team members, providing critical and constructive feedback for improvement.
• Contribute to the editorial process, ensuring supporting assets such as written article content, designed graphics, and videography are proofed, technically accurate, and produced in a timely fashion, and of high scientific quality, and that original, editorial, and marketing content publishing goals are regularly met.
• Develop, prototype, and deploy concepts for new series of content and content formats based on reader feedback and industry needs.
• Quickly grasp concepts from new fields of science and technology, with an ability to connect the dots for how new scientific developments can impact areas of industry need.
• Maintain a general understanding of scientific concepts within organic and medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, and a sense of what is state‑of‑the‑art in each field.
• Maintain an awareness of new developments in industries involved in novel drug discovery, such as the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
• Cultivate and develop relationships with a network of industry and academic scientific experts, including through presenting and hosting online and in‑person presentations, group events, 1:1 calls, and round‑table discussions, continuously exploring new ways to add value to the industrial drug discovery community.
• Foster a positive culture within the industry and editorial team aligned with the mission and values of the company, prioritizing facts, community, clarity, helpfulness, teamwork, and accountability.

• Authorization to work in the United States.
• A Ph.D. (or equivalent) in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemical biology or a closely related field.
• Prior work experience (5+ years) focused on drug discovery; strong preference for candidates with experience working at biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical companies.
• Broad research interests and awareness of trends in drug discovery, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals, and eagerness to learn about new scientific areas and trends in biomedical research and development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and fluency in English (written and spoken).
