The RoleWe are seeking a Research Associate to join our team and drive projects focused on improving hair fiber properties through novel biochemical techniques and material chemistry. In this role, you will work hands-on in the lab, coating hair surfaces and characterizing them through various physical, chemical, and mechanical techniques. The position is on-site, Monday through Friday, at our labs in Cambridge, MA.
Key Responsibilities- Design, optimize, troubleshoot, and execute experiments supporting R&D pipelines.
- Conduct a range of experiments to evaluate hair care treatments and develop advanced hair coating/treatment technologies.
- Source, secure, and maintain chemical and biological materials according to research needs.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain detailed laboratory documentation.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Materials Science.
- Hands-on wet-lab experience (academic or industry).
- Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and handle delicate laboratory tasks with precision.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and thrive under time constraints.
