Process Chemistry Co-Op at Vertex, focused on developing scalable manufacturing processes for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in clinical trials.

• Designing and executing experiments involving advanced techniques like flow chemistry, photoredox catalysis, and high-throughput methods
• Optimizing reaction conditions
• Analyzing complex organic syntheses
• Utilizing analytical instruments such as NMR and HPLC
• The role involves collaborative experimentation, thorough documentation, literature review, data interpretation, and presenting findings to the team

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields
• Third-year student or above
• Completion of organic chemistry coursework
• Strong interest in synthesis and process chemistry
• Good laboratory safety, organization, and communication skills
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Full-time availability from January to July 2027

Prior research experience, familiarity with analytical techniques, and ability to analyze experimental data.

Internship in process chemistry for biologics or small molecules, with emphasis on novel synthetic methods, process optimization, and collaboration within a fast-paced biotech environment.

On-site in Boston with flexible work arrangements, full-time, paid at $25–$35/hour, with Final date to receive applications November 15, 2026.
