Global Therapeutic Research Lead (G-TRL) responsible for driving research projects from discovery to clinical development within Takeda's Gastroenterology and Inflammation (GI DDU) focus. Main objectives include leading high-priority drug discovery programs, shaping early asset strategy, managing external partnerships, and ensuring alignment with organizational and therapeutic area strategies.
Responsibilities involve overseeing target identification, hit-to-lead optimization, and preclinical development, with a strong emphasis on small molecule modalities and familiarity with biologics. The role requires mentoring global teams, fostering innovation, and representing Takeda externally to industry and academic partners.
QualificationsPh.D., M.D., or D.V.M. with 10-12+ years industry experience in drug discovery, particularly in immunology/inflammation, with proven leadership in multi-project management and delivering compounds to the clinic. Deep expertise in target validation, medicinal chemistry, and AI/ML-driven discovery is expected. The position entails strategic input into portfolio decisions, stakeholder engagement, and representing research externally.
Work SetupHybrid in Cambridge, MA, with a salary range of $212,000-$333,190 based on expertise and experience.
