Schedule
Sunday thru Wednesday; 32 hours per week;
Two days 7 AM
-3 PM and two days 12 PM
-8 PM
$19-$21/hourly
Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalency.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with residents and staff.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, etc.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
- 1-2 years of cooking experience
- Responsible for and actively participate in food preparation for all meals and snacks for residents/participants providing quality and good presentation.
- Timely completion of production and service of foods.
- Understand and ensure specific therapeutic dietary needs of residents/participants
- Work closely with Food Service Director to maintain therapeutic diets, ensure nutritional meals for residents/participants and follow suggestions for meeting state and local health regulations.
- Responsible for assistance in maintenance of all food service equipment, keeping it sanitary, safe and in good working order.
Report for shifts in uniform and at scheduled time. - Communicate and coordinate with Food Service Director and other managers for food service activity events and ensure timeliness and quality for those events.
- Coordinate schedule of meal service with Assisted Living and Day Program Directors, Nurse Coordinator and ensure timeliness of meal preparation, serving, and procedure of dietary service staff when serving meals.
- Ensure organization and cleanliness of all dietary storage areas in main kitchen
- Premeal meetings with all dietary staff on menu item ingredients food handling techniques and service instructions.
- Monitor safe food handling techniques on a regular basis and ensure food safety. Completion of temperature logs and cooks daily report.
- Ensure immediate and safe storage of leftover food after all meals.
- Refer to schedule of special functions and events on dietary board and communicate with appropriate manager regarding dietary needs for functions and ensure timeliness, quality and schedule in director’s absence.
- Communicate with Food Service Director on a regular basis any information, issues or concerns affecting the Food Service Department, employees or food service deliveries.
- Attend and participate in all staff orientations, department staff meetings and monthly in-services
- Maintain food service temperature sheets and daily cooks report.
- Must be available for special community events when designated and assure quality presentation, taste, and service of food.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested from time to time by supervisor or other managers.
