Reports To: Cafeteria Manager
City of Boston Residency Requirement: This position is subject to the City of Boston residency requirement.
Responsibilities- Safe preparation and handling of food
- Cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities
- Serving food
- Assisting with record keeping
- Perform duties efficiently during assigned hours, including operation of a cash register if required
- Attend training meetings as required
- Report to work as scheduled, sign posted time sheet, and remain on the job until dismissal by the manager
- Notify manager and main office at earliest possible time when unable to work
- Maintain pleasant working relations with fellow employees with respect and consideration
- Follow all policies of the School Committee and instructions of the Cafeteria Manager relating to safety, sanitation, personnel standards, work techniques, and methods of performing duties
- Assist with food preparation, portioning, and setting up serving counter
- Wash dishes, trays, flatware, pots, pans and utensils; wash dining room tables; clean kitchen equipment and work area including floor
- Unpack supplies and assist with stocking dry storage shelves and/or refrigerator shelves
- Operate equipment properly, maintaining safety standards at all times
- Perform duties as assigned by Cafeteria Manager
- High school diploma or GED
- Current authorization to work in the United States (must have by first day of employment)
- Serv Safe Food Handlers Certificate
