On Call Bartender

THIS IS AN ON-CALL POSITION

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate hospitality professional with strengths in service, thorough knowledge of wine, food and beverage, and the guest experience, for the position of Bartender at the Rowes Wharf Sea Grille/Dark Bar at the Boston Harbor Hotel. The Bartender is responsible for all aspects of bartending, providing knowledgeable, prompt and courteous service at the bar and to the servers.

The Bartender will provide guests with detailed wine, beer and cocktail descriptions and anticipate their needs.

Candidate profile: flexible night and weekend availability to fulfill this role.

Experience:

at least 1 year of experience in a Full-Service Restaurant; experience in a Luxury environment preferred. TIPS Certification preferred.

Job Qualifications:

In addition to key responsibilities, candidates may possess a combination of the following skills and experiences:

• Thorough knowledge of wine, beer and specialty cocktails, as well as luxury core standards.
• Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computational ability.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs on a regular and continuous basis.
• Maintain an organized and pristine work area.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English. A second language is desirable.
