Shift Lead role at Walgreens.
This role will remain open until filled. Base pay range: $18.00/hr - $21.00/hr.
Responsibilities- Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including all required systems start‑ups, required cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for the business day. Responsible for opening back door of store for deliveries.
- Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change as requested to cash registers.
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions.
- Share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
- Hold store keys and open/close without management as necessary.
- Assist and coach team members with warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including opening the backdoor for vendor deliveries.
- Register all related sales on assigned cash register, including records of scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
- Assist manager or assistant store manager in reviewing order exceptions on order release day and reverse logistics.
- Assist in evaluating and developing displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise; complete resets and revisions.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and on‑hand quantities.
- Ensure the Outdate program is followed with team members.
- Set basic department pricing, make daily price changes, and ensure proper signage is displayed.
- Assist with bookkeeping activities such as cash report, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payment.
- Help with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring a clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.
- Assist with separation of food items and product placement per policies, including stock rotation.
- Have working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
- Assist at pharmacy out window as requested.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
- Conduct bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager.
- Serve as a liaison between management and team members, communicating tasks when store management is not present.
- Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
- Consideration of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
- Obtains and maintains valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
