PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities
The GM leads performance, people, and process activities:
Performance- Promote accountability to meet retail and service sales, guest loyalty, payroll, omni‑channel, and shrink goals.
- Drive profitability through operational excellence, sales growth, and expense control.
- Leverage store forecast and payroll budgets to support scheduling, maximize productivity, and meet payroll goals.
- Address issues identified in financial reports, audits, and store visits to achieve store objectives.
- Perform makeup, skincare, and product demonstrations to enhance guest experience.
- Stay informed on industry trends and products to serve guests better.
- Maintain regular attendance and hold associates accountable to the attendance policy.
- Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent.
- Address policy violations with corrective action per Ulta Beauty policies, including separation when necessary.
- Build an engaged team that embodies the brand through collaboration and open communication.
- Create an inclusive environment encouraging growth and engagement.
- Lead manager and associate development—training, feedback, performance reviews, succession planning, and development plans.
- Ensure associates and direct reports complete ongoing training and brand education.
- Model open communication by sharing strategy and aligning goals.
- Promote teamwork and provide clear direction.
- Execute the Guest Engagement Leader program flawlessly.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
- Adhere to the dress code.
- Use the scheduling tool to schedule staff effectively.
- Use the task‑management tool to prioritize workload and enforce policy compliance.
- Protect assets and minimize loss by enforcing operating procedures.
- Execute daily inventory controls, including theft reporting.
- Support continuous improvement through technology and initiative adoption.
- Use company programs and resources to drive store improvements.
- Communicate business trends, challenges, merchandise needs, and competitive landscape to field leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 3–5+ years fast‑paced retail or relevant management experience.
- Financial management: driving sales, interpreting dataхийн, managing payroll budgets, and controlling expenses.
- Retail management: inventory control, operational excellence, service culture, and merchandising.
- Leadership: attracting, developing, motivating talent, navigating change, and influencing team dynamics.
- Proficient with POS, Microsoft Office, and Apple devices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to react under pressure, use good judgment, and remain adaptable.
Position Requirements
- Work a flexible full‑time schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be available to close the store at least once per week.
- Attend corporate meetings, conferences, and interstate travel, including overnight stays.
- Maintain valid identification for airline travel.
- Frequent use of computer, telephonic devices, and office supplies.
- Continuous mobility throughout the store during shifts.
- Frequent bending, pushing, reaching, and twisting.
- Frequent lifting, carrying up to 25 lbs.

The pay range for this position is $87,360.00 – $ per year. Eligible associates may earn additional compensation under the company’s bonus plan.
