Account Executive, East (Great Lakes Region)

VODA.ai is seeking an Account Executive to join our U.S. sales organization. As an Account Executive, you’ll be responsible for expanding VODA.ai’s commercial footprint in the Great Lakes region by engaging with public and private water utilities, managing and driving the sales process from a qualified lead to open opportunity. The role requires effective communication, presentation, and people skills. VODA.ai offers AI‑based SaaS solutions for water and wastewater utilities.

A strong technical background or understanding of water networks is a plus. Your target clients will be director and manager‑level stakeholders at utilities and engineering firms.

Responsibilities
  • Use your presence and consultative approach to build relationships with prospects, customers, and partners.
  • Demonstrate our value with clear knowledge of the product, use cases, and value proposition. Perform product demonstrations for qualified leads.
  • Source and identify deals that make sense for both the customer and our business. Our customers always come first, and we strive to support their needs best we can.
  • Liaise with territory partners and resellers frequently to maintain close communication about deals and build great relationships with your counterparts.
  • Maintain accurate information of your activities, next steps, probabilities, communications, and more within our CRM (Hub Spot). Good CRM hygiene ensures our best‑in‑class marketing, customer success, and technical teams can do their job to take care of our customers before, and after, the sale.
  • Report directly to the Director of Sales for the Northeast region and leverage them to help close the deal.
Qualifications
  • Based in, or willing to relocate without assistance to the Great Lakes Region states in the U.S.: WI, IL, MI, IN, KY.
  • Likable; customers buy from those they like.
  • Trustworthy; customers buy from those they trust.
  • Professional; working with AI means you’re on the forefront of technology yet still convey confidence and legitimacy.
  • Motivated; having a sense of urgency and a desire to drive a deal across the line is critical.
  • Some civil engineering experience or knowledge of the water/utility industry (GIS, work order systems, hydraulic models, etc.).
  • Previous experience working with utility or government SaaS (preferred).
  • Team‑oriented; we are a low‑ego organization and do not have time for office politics.
  • Willing to travel; expect at least 70% of time for travel to build face‑to‑face relationships.
