The BD Biosciences Research Reagent Specialist (RRS) is responsible for maintaining and growing the research reagent portfolio in the Academic space. This is a field-based position located in Cambridge, MA.

Role OverviewLeverage your scientific expertise and consultative sales skills to drive growth of BD Biosciences research reagents within the Academic and Government sectors. Work in a collaborative team that values innovation and customer success.
As a Research Reagent Specialist (RRS), you will play a key role in expanding our customer base, developing strategic account relationships, and increasing revenue in your assigned territory. Your primary focus will be on acquiring new customers, converting competitive accounts, and fostering long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities- Drive business growth by expanding the research reagent portfolio through new customer acquisition and increased product adoption.
- Forecast & plan using business tools, such as Salesforce, to predict monthly sales for key accounts and overall territory performance.
- Collaborate with distributors to build and maintain strong relationships through active communication and joint field visits.
- Develop and sustain a robust short- and long-term sales strategy to ensure consistent revenue growth.
- Partner with BD Biosciences colleagues across Sales, Service, and Applications Support to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Perform additional duties and assignments as business needs evolve.
Required:
- A bachelor's degree in a scientific field and at least 3–5 years of sales experience.
- Laboratory experience, highly preferred in flow cytometry.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
- Strong presentation, training, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with digital tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Salesforce).
Strongly Preferred:
- BS Degree in Biology, Immunology, or related Life Sciences; advanced degrees welcome.
- Familiarity with Life Science Research and Pharma/Biotech/Academic accounts.
- Ability to adapt to a changing business environment and continually meet customer needs.
