Lead Scientist
Lead Scientist works on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Works on significant and unique issues that may impact future concepts, products or technologies on a broader scope than just one unit. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Exercises latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
Works closely with directors on unit/lab issues. Manages the work efforts of more than one individual, mentors staff, and completes performance appraisals. Contributes broad knowledge of the field, strong leadership skills, technical proficiency and scientific creativity. Works both collaboratively and independently.

Responsibilities- Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought.
- Work on complex problems requiring in‑depth evaluation of various factors.
- Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Work closely with directors on unit/lab issues and enjoy wide latitude for decision‑making.
- Excellent knowledge of the field with strong leadership skills. Resolve critical issues and contribute to unit/lab development.
- PhD in a scientific discipline or MD preferred.
- Minimum of 12+ years related experience.
- Work on significant and unique issues that may impact future concepts, products or technologies on a broader scope than just one unit.
- Exercise latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
- 5+ years management responsibility preferred.
- Manages the work efforts of more than one individual and mentors staff.
- Completes performance appraisals.
