Lead Scientist works on complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of various factors. This role contributes broad knowledge, strong leadership skills, technical proficiency, and scientific creativity. The position is located in Boston and its surrounding communities.

• Manage the work efforts of more than one individual, mentor staff, and complete performance appraisals.
• Work closely with directors on unit/lab issues; exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies.
• Determine objectives and approaches for critical assignments with latitude for decision‑making.
• Contribute to unit/lab development and advanced concepts, products, or technologies that may have broader scope.

• Excellent knowledge of the field combined with strong leadership skills.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others, and independent thought.
• Ability to resolve critical issues and make independent decisions.

• PhD in a scientific discipline (MD preferred).
• Minimum of 12+ years related experience.
• 5+ years management responsibility preferred.

• Manages the work efforts of more than one individual and mentors staff.
• Completes performance appraisals.
