The Skilled Laborer performs a variety of assignments requiring knowledge of the construction field. This is a full-time non-exempt reporting to the Distribution Supervisor in Boston, MA. This position is a member of the Bargaining Unit Member of the IUOE, Local 877. The hourly rate for this position is $42.39.

• All activities covered under Unskilled Laborer such as using all hand and power tools to maintain and repair equipment.
• Performs duties such as concrete work, excavation or fill, and general construction work.
• Skilled in carpentry work as it pertains to framing and forming.
• Skilled in concrete work as it pertains to forming, reinforcing, and placing cast in place concrete.
• Experienced in safe excavation techniques, including digging, trenching, shoring, back filling, etc.
• Insulates piping as required.
• Basic masonry skills necessary to install or repair brick work.
• Assist in the training of other Laborer(s).
• Assist others as required.
• All other related duties.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience.

• Must submit to company provided pre-employment physical exam and drug screening.
• Must possess a valid driver license in good standing in order to operate a company vehicle. Must have and maintain a driving record meeting the standards of the company. Able to follow DOT regulations when required.
• Required to wear a half face respirator or powered air respirators (PAPR) or proper safety procedures warrant use.
• Required to lift and / or operate machinery, tools, etc., weighing up to 80 pounds, unassisted.
• Required to work in confined spaces.
• Required climbing ladders, and / or stairs.
• Required to work in all adverse conditions, both indoors and outdoors all seasons.
• Required to work in hot areas.
