Maintenance Technician – Building Maintenance

Synergy, a leading Boston commercial real estate investment and management firm, seeks a key member of our maintenance staff to perform all maintenance duties and respond to work orders, tenant calls, and other operational/administrative duties for our urban office building.

• Monitor building system operations and performance; maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Provide support to work performed by outside contractors; coordinate landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, and cleaning.
• Perform repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance; complete maintenance and repair records as directed.
• Review assigned work orders; estimate time and materials needed; order materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
• Maintain building lighting, perform carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations; summon additional assistance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Experience in building maintenance and trade skills, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, EMS, and other mechanical systems.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office and Outlook; experience with electronic work order and preventive maintenance systems.
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.

• Work performed inside and outside the property with exposure to weather, fumes, electrical current, and machine noise.
• Frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, repetitive use of hands, power hand grasping, and reaching above and below shoulder level.
• Occasional sitting, squatting, crawling, kneeling.
• Ability to operate assigned equipment and machinery; may be required to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
