• Perform general carpentry work to include layout, construction, repairing and assembling temporary and permanent building, additions, partitions, and wood furniture and fixtures.
• Perform general carpentry work in the construction, repair and renovation of floors, stairways, partitions, doors, windows and screens from blueprints, sketches and verbal instructions.
• Install glass in windows, doors, partitions; replace ceiling tiles, floor tiles and other damaged equipment as assigned.
• Select, cut, trim and process lumber as specified using hand and power tools and woodworking machines such as power saws, band saws, jointers planes and drill presses.
• Sand cabinets, work tables, and other wood articles.
• Estimate amount of required lumber and supplies for projects; select type of lumber and material necessary.
• Perform a variety of installation and maintenance work.
• Inspect completed work and direct any rework or modifications.
• Provide technical guidance and direction to lower level personnel.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

• Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Work requires 3 years of experience in carpentry methods and techniques.
• Ability to write accurate reports.
• Must possess a valid Massachusetts Driver’s license.
• Must have knowledge of all safety procedures and be able to demonstrate the proper use of all required safety equipment.
• Required to work any emergency as directed by the Commission.
