Maintenance Technician
OverviewResponsible to assist with the operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities.
Responsibilities- Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems including packaging and handling machinery, plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, grounds equipment, and HVAC.
- Clean, lubricate, and service a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices.
- Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
- Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, paint walls, piping, floors, and equipment.
- Evaluate maintenance operations, recommend upgrades, and implement savings opportunities.
- Use tools and equipment for facility and ground maintenance effectively.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests as assigned.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems such as fire alarm systems, fire pumps, and related equipment.
- Perform carpentry and snow removal when necessary.
- Comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and safe work habits.
- Use technology, including smartphones, tablets, computers, web‑based applications, building automation systems, etc.
- Complete all required C&W Safety Training as scheduled annually.
- Follow the C&W Uniform Dress Code and maintain a neat, clean appearance off‑site.
- May be the only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts, may need to work extended periods without relief, and may require shift work and/or on‑call duties.

- 2+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting.
- Technical, vocational or on‑the‑job training in at least one of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair.
- Valid driver’s license (commercial license may be required) and good driving record with periodic checks.
- Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others, operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, move about the workplace, remain in a stationary position for 10% of the time, and extend hands and arms in any direction.

CompensationThe compensation for the position is $45.94 - $54.05 per hour. The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role. Compensation will depend on factors such as collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, market pay rates, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
