The successful candidate will have previous experience working in an active rail yard environment and/or similar rolling stock environment; be an effective team member and communicator; and bewilling to assist with additional duties as necessary. Employee performs highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting work involving mechanical assemblies.
FUNCTIONAL
DESCRIPTION:?
Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment.? Must have strong troubleshooting, blueprint reading, and hydraulic skills.? Willing to work with all types of building and production equipment? Layout, assemble, test, and install, apparatus and equipment, working from blueprints,schematics, sketches, verbal instructions, and other specifications.? Diagnose and repair trouble involving installations and equipment.? Fabricate and install necessary equipment to accomplish tasks.? Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications,and parts lists, subassemblies, tools, and materials.?
Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, measuring tools and blueprints.? Verify specifications by measuring completed components. Install, repair, and service specialized mechanical equipment, machinery, panels, and wiring.? Complete installations and necessary testing to verify work.? Bonding activities and the use of approved chemicals may be required.? Previous knowledge and use of torque wrenches is preferred.? The essential functions of individual positions within the classification may differ.

TRAINING/
EDUCATION REQUIRED:?
High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school.
INITIAL TRAINING:? Quality system? Occupational Hazards Prevention System? Railway Safety Management System? Human Resources Policies? Environmental Systems? Information/Cyber Security
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:?
