We are looking for an experienced Lead Java Engineer for a hybrid role in Boston or NJ. This position is W‑2, no corporate benefits and requires local candidates. The role will involve designing, building, and maintaining Java applications for financial services.

Locals to NJ or Boston - Hybrid position. No relocation candidates. Must be a USC or GC.

• Lead the architecture and design of Java applications.
• Develop and maintain J2EE, Spring Boot, Angular, and REST API solutions.
• Write SQL/PLSQL queries, scripts, and Power Shell scripts.
• Design and implement authentication mechanisms using JSON, SOAP, REST, RAML, SAML, OAuth, and OIDC.
• Work with Spring Boot/Hibernate frameworks and web services.
• Use relational databases such as Oracle/SQL.
• Implement container solutions with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Apply version control best practices with Git and Jira.
• Operate across Linux and Windows platforms.
• Ensure secure coding and SDLC best practices.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Design robust, scalable, and maintainable software architectures.
• Lead and mentor junior Java developers.

• Minimum 10 years of technical experience in application architecture, design, and development.
• Proficiency in J2EE, Java, Spring Boot, Angular, REST APIs, and advanced Java concepts.
• Solid experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Power Shell, and scripting.
• Strong knowledge of web service protocols, JSON, SOAP, REST, RAML, SAML, OAuth, and OIDC.
• Experience with Hibernate, Spring, RESTful services, and relational databases.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, and other dev‑ops tools.
• Experience in Linux and Windows OS environments.
• Understanding of secure coding, SDLC, and development lifecycle.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Prior experience in financial services is a plus.
