Principal Software Engineer - Enterprise & Platform

Boston, MA (hybrid)

Annual Salary Range: $112,000–196,000

• Design, implement high‑impact, scalable and resilient features for a SaaS‑based CAD/PDM service.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of critical modules—writing production‑quality code, profiling and optimizing algorithms, and ensuring clean, testable, and maintainable solutions.
• Partner with Product Management, UX, and other engineering teams to define specifications, influence long‑term technical strategy, and ensure consistency across platforms.
• Lead and participate in design and code reviews, setting high standards for clarity, maintainability, security, and scalability; mentor engineers at all levels, encouraging technical depth and creative problem‑solving.
• Diagnose and resolve high‑impact production or customer issues quickly and effectively.

• Expertise in Java and its ecosystem, backed by solid computer science fundamentals, algorithms, and data structures.
• Extensive experience developing multi‑tenant backend infrastructure systems and services using Java, Spring, Mongo
  
  DB, and Elastic.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance‑tuning skills.
• Extensive experience building and scaling cloud‑native architectures with a focus on high availability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and operational best practices.
• Experience building products for and supporting large enterprise customers with complex security, delegation, and collaboration needs.
• Providing guidance and technical support for junior engineers, helping them develop technical skills through code reviews, one‑on‑one meetings, and training sessions.
• Ability to lead design and implementation of complex software systems, ensuring high‑quality code and adherence to best practices.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent software development experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience building distributed, data‑intensive systems using Java and database technologies.
• Expertise in Java, Spring, and Mongo
  
  DB.
• US Citizenship required for work with FedRAMP and Gov Cloud.
• Proven track record of delivering high‑quality, production‑ready software in Agile environments.
