We are seeking a hands‑on Engineering Manager to lead a dedicated full‑stack team building the next wave of intelligent emergency technology. In this role you will own end‑to‑end delivery of new products and features that span modern backend services, rich user interfaces, and AI‑driven workflows.

• Drive the architecture, design, and implementation of new features for Rapid
  
  SOS UNITE—a React/Type Script and Python‑based application that handles millions of 911 calls each month.
• Champion an AI‑forward approach by guiding the team in using AI tools where they add real leverage and encouraging experimentation.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of new products and features from concept to release.
• Lead strategic architectural decisions, optimize applications for performance, scalability, and accessibility.
• Collaborate in an agile environment with stakeholders across Engineering, Public Safety, Design, and Product to solve real challenges for our users.
• Stay hands‑on with the codebase by leading stand‑ups and code reviews, contributing to features, resolving technical roadblocks, and championing best practices.
• Grow, hire, onboard, mentor, and empower engineers so they can contribute quickly and develop their craft.
• Promote a culture of high trust, ownership, and clarity where engineers are proud of their work and aligned on priorities.
• Iterate fast, refactor when new information shows a better path, and keep the codebase clean and stable.

• 8‑10+ years of full‑stack engineering experience, with 3‑5+ years of leading engineering teams.
• 3‑5+ years developing rich, interactive, scalable frontend applications with React/Redux, Type Script, modern HTML/CSS.
• 3‑5+ years developing backend systems in Python or Node (Go, Ruby, Java also considered) with robust APIs.
• Experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring best practices using tools like Datadog.
• Proven ability to lead technical decisions around system architecture and scalability for thousands of users.
• Highly self‑motivated, adaptable, and able to navigate ambiguity in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong coding best practices, clean maintainable testable code.
• Customer‑centric mindset and ability to create optimal visual strategies with product and design goals.
• Comfort using AI tools to accelerate development and willingness to explore new AI capabilities.
• Ability and willingness to collaborate in person quarterly or as needed.
