• Design, build, and review code for the fraud and abuse backend platform
• Iterate on features using Scala and technologies within Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Deliver your first code within days, adapting features in an agile manner
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with product teams and other Hopper teams
• Operate autonomously while ensuring high alignment with engineers and product managers

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in building scalable backend systems
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and their architectural implications
• Ability to work with minimal guidance and manage uncertainty
• Proven experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including Product Managers and Data Scientists
• Prior experience in the payments and fraud space is a plus

• Experience with Scala and Google Cloud Platform technologies
• Proactive problem‑solver comfortable with evolving goals and challenges
• Background in fintech or travel technology environments
