Job Description & How to Apply Below
As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting‑edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Lattice Autonomy Platform team owns the behavior tree engine and extension points to support “autonomy for every mission.” Our customers use teams of heterogeneous robots that can sense the world, move around, and coordinate to achieve their objectives given high‑level plans from human operators. Our software is deployed on a variety of robot platforms from autonomous jets and underwater autonomous submersibles through to rotary‑wing aircraft and everything in between.
Our team’s mission is to enable engineers to build the best autonomous capabilities at the fastest developer velocity. We do this by building well‑designed, ergonomic APIs for engineers in the field to build on and complete their mission. Every mission involves a unique set of objectives, robot capabilities, and teaming dynamics. Our system needs to be flexible and easy to use so operators can build high‑level behaviors that make the best use of the information and capabilities available to each robot.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Development on our core behavior tree engine including efforts to improve modularity and extensibility.
• Design and implement autonomy capabilities that extend our behavior tree engine.
• Create and maintain APIs, SDKs, and documentation for production software used across Anduril and by third parties.
• Solicit and incorporate feedback from end users of the APIs and implementations, and collaborate with adjacent engineering teams to help make the product vision a reality.
• Test and validate capability modules through unit testing, simulation testing and performance benchmarks.
• Drive the future of the Anduril and 3rd party robot ecosystem by working on the software at the center of all interactions between the high‑level onboard mission autonomy software and the robot platforms they manipulate.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years of experience in C++ software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, and supporting C++ libraries and APIs.
• Experience developing on Linux‑based environments.
• Strong communication skills and an ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with robot operating systems and robot frameworks.
• Experience developing with Protobuf.
• Experience developing with Python.
