Senior Server Side Software Engineer – Healthcare IT

Job Description:

Our client does the bulk of current development work using React

JS, Node.js
, and MongoDB
. They also have some Java components and an open, standards-based technology platform for integrating with EMRs called SMART on FHIR
.

The IDE includes collaborative code review, test-driven development with continuous integration/testing/builds, unit testing, and automated testing.

This is a software engineering position for someone who enjoys working on server-side technologies, with a well-thought-out architecture utilizing solid open-source frameworks and strong expertise in Node.js
.

Responsibilities:

• Design and code well-designed, reusable, superior technical solutions, and contribute to the design and specification of new features.
• Review production work, recognize system deficiencies, implement effective solutions, and suggest improvements to development processes.
• Help team members improve their skills by sharing knowledge.
• Understand complex database concepts and implications of different database designs.
• Possess expert skills in using JSON and REST APIs
  .

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in object-oriented programming developing large-scale enterprise systems.
• 3+ years of experience with Node.js
  .
• Solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts.
• Experience in a continuous integration environment is a plus.
• Motivated self-starter, able to take ownership and drive results.
• Expert knowledge of data structures.
• Expert in maintaining and debugging live software systems.
• Experience with Scrum methodology and Agile practices
  .

Desirable

Qualifications:

• Healthcare IT experience is a plus.
