PositionWe are seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with a strong background in Android, C++, and modern graphics/compute frameworks (Vulkan, OpenGL, etc.) to help us advance our next‑generation handheld imaging devices. This on‑site role in our Boston, MA office spans embedded software, UI/UX development, data processing pipelines, and AI/ML integrations (OpenAI, PyTorch, Tensor Flow). You will work closely with electrical, mechanical, and physics engineers to bring highly integrated systems to life and take a hands‑on technical leadership role designing, implementing, and optimizing across the stack from low‑level device control to front‑end interfaces.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and optimize applications for Android platforms with C++ and Java/Kotlin.
- Implement GPU‑accelerated algorithms for image rendering and data processing using Vulkan (or related APIs).
- Build and maintain APIs that bridge hardware, firmware, and user applications.
- Integrate AI/ML models (OpenAI and other frameworks) into production software for real‑time inference.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on sensor integration, performance optimization, and system debugging.
- Contribute to UX/UI development for field‑ready Android apps.
- Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code and participate in peer code reviews.
- Support testing, validation, and deployment of production systems used worldwide.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- 8–10 years of experience in software development with strong proficiency in C++ and Android (Java/Kotlin, NDK).
- Hands‑on experience with Vulkan, OpenGL, or other graphics/compute APIs.
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration (OpenAI, Tensor Flow, or PyTorch).
- Experience working on cross‑platform systems that integrate with hardware.
- Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to collaborate in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work from our Boston office 5 days per week.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Background in physics, imaging systems, or computational graphics.
- Experience with embedded Linux, device drivers, or low‑level firmware/software.
- Familiarity with computer vision and image reconstruction pipelines.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles in embedded/connected systems.
