CA Gen Migration Architect​/Lead Engineer

Position: CA Gen Migration Architect / Lead Engineer
** CA Gen Engineer/Architect*
* ** Fully remote 6+ month contract*
* ** Need exp. with - Migration from COBOL/mainframe applications to modern distributed or cloud-based architectures*
* We are seeking a highly experienced  
** Senior/Lead Engineer or Architect
** with deep expertise in  
** CA Gen (Broadcom Gen / COOL)
** and legacy application modernization. This individual will provide technical expertise around an existing CA Gen environment and help support the migration of legacy applications to modern technologies.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on knowledge of CA Gen internals, generated COBOL applications, and prior experience successfully migrating or modernizing CA Gen applications.

** Key Responsibilities*
* + Provide senior-level technical expertise for applications built using  
** CA Gen / Broadcom Gen / COOL*
* + Analyze and understand the existing  
** CA Gen runtime framework and application models*
* + Work with  
** CA Gen model internals
** and understand how application models translate into generated code

+ Analyze and troubleshoot  
** CA Gen-generated COBOL code*
* + Help define and execute the strategy for migrating legacy CA Gen applications to modern technologies

+ Assess existing application architecture, dependencies, business logic, and migration risks

+ Partner with engineering and architecture teams throughout the modernization effort

+ Provide technical leadership and guidance during migration and implementation

** Required Experience*
* +  
** 5+ years of hands-on CA Gen experience** , including experience with:

+ CA Gen

+ Broadcom Gen

+ COOL

+ Strong understanding of the  
** CA Gen runtime framework*
* + Strong knowledge of  
** CA Gen model internals*
* + Ability to understand and work with  
** CA Gen-generated COBOL code*
* + Demonstrated experience with a  
** successful CA Gen migration or modernization initiative*
* +  
** 5+ years of COBOL software development experience*
* + Strong understanding of legacy application architecture and modernization concepts

+ Senior-level engineering or architecture experience

** Nice to Have*
* Experience with one or more of the following modern technologies:

+  
** Java*
* +  
** C# / .NET*
* +  
** AWS*
* + Mainframe modernization or application re-platforming

+ Migration from COBOL/mainframe applications to modern distributed or cloud-based architectures
