Founding Engineer

Arul Health builds an agentic AI platform that helps patients and caregivers manage the logistics of serious and chronic illness. Our AI agents and human care navigators do appointment scheduling, prior authorizations, insurance navigation, prescription refills and financial assistance applications.

As a Founding Engineer, you are one of the first engineers  help set the technical foundation of the company: the architecture, the engineering standards and the culture. You write a large part of the code, you speak with patients and partners, and you decide with the CEO what to build next.

This role is on‑site in our Boston office, 5 days a week, and includes significant founding equity.

You get founding‑level ownership and equity in a company that helps patients with serious illness get the care they need. You build the first version of agentic care navigation, with AI agents that do real healthcare tasks for real patients. You work every day with the CEO in a small, fast team in Boston. We are backed by top healthcare investors.

• — Own large parts of the product, from the first idea to production.
• — Set the architecture of our AI agent platform and choose our tools and infrastructure.
• — Build AI agents that do real healthcare tasks: scheduling, prior authorizations, refills and financial assistance applications.
• — Speak with patients, caregivers, care navigators and partners to find what to build.
• — Set our engineering standards for code review, testing, deployment, security and HIPAA compliance.
• — Help hire and grow the engineering team.

• — A strong record of shipping products end to end at a startup or a talent‑dense company.
• — Hands‑on experience building with LLMs or AI agents in production.
• — Strong full‑stack skills across front end, back end and infrastructure.
• — A high level of ownership and comfort with ambiguity and a fast pace.
• — Strong product sense and care for design quality.
• — Ability to work on‑site in Boston, 5 days a week.

• — Experience in healthcare or health tech.
• — Experience with consumer products, design engineering, or a background in art or design.
• — Previous founder or first‑engineer experience.
• — Experience with React, Python/FastAPI and Google Cloud Platform.
