The Department of Radiology Research is looking for a Data Engineer to join their Research team.
- Harmonize contributed cancer imaging datasets (radiology, digital pathology, annotations, AI analysis results) into standard DICOM representation and prepare them for ingestion into IDC.
- Develop and maintain open source Python and C++ tools for accessing IDC data and converting between DICOM and research formats (idc-index, highdicom, dcmqi, wsidicomizer and related packages).
- Build and run cloud-based analysis workflows (Google Cloud, Terra, JetStream2) that apply open source AI analysis tools to large imaging cohorts and encode results as DICOM.
- Develop and maintain agentic interfaces to IDC, apply agentic approaches to support the project and its users.
- Contribute to the modernization of the 3D Slicer architecture: implement modules against the revised core libraries, reimplement existing capabilities as reusable packages, and develop tests.
