Personal Trainer at New York Sports Club
OverviewNew York Sports Club is a leading fitness brand focused on improving lives through personalized training and community engagement. We seek a motivating Personal Trainer to deliver one‑on‑one and group fitness services, enhance member experience, and support business growth.
Responsibilities- Deliver personalized, science‑based training programs that align with clients’ S.M.A.R.T. goals.
- Lead small group sessions, floor engagement activities, and special events to drive member retention.
- Maintain accurate training plans, assessment records, and equipment utilization.
- Ensure POS and membership system proficiency, scheduling, and administrative accuracy.
- Collaborate with Fitness Leaders and Sales teams to attract new members and support upsell activities.
- Achieve monthly revenue, session, and sales targets while maintaining high quality training standards.
- Provide timely resolution of member concerns, cancellations, equipment issues, and other operational matters.
- Maintain active CPT certification and complete continuing education credits.
- Adhere to NYSC policies, safety standards, and code of conduct.
- Engage with clients beyond appointment times to foster accountability and loyalty.
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or related field preferred.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification for adults and children.
- Proficiency with computer applications and POS systems.
- Physical ability to lift up to 45 lbs, move equipment, and maintain safe training environments.
- Excellent time‑management, communication, and customer‑service skills.
- Active CPT certification from an approved body (ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA, etc.).

- AAPT – American Academy of Personal Training

- AFAA – Aerobics and Fitness Association of America
- ISCA – International Strength and Conditioning Association
- ISSA – International Sports Sciences Association
- NFPT – National Federal of Professional Trainers
- IFPA – International Fitness Professionals Association
- NESTA – National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association
- NCEP – National College of Exercise Professionals
- Pro‑PTA, Cooper Institute, Swedish Institute, NCCPT
- Additional certifications may be accepted with approval.
- Open schedule availability including early or late shifts, weekends, and on‑call duties.
- Week comprised of training, lead generation, administrative, and floor‑cleaning tasks as assigned.
