Job DescriptionThe Role
The Strength & Conditioning Coach plays a key role in driving the physical performance and long-term athletic development of players. This position is responsible for designing and delivering individualized strength and corrective programs that reflect each athlete’s unique needs, goals, and stage of development. Leveraging data and technology, the coach integrates objective insights into daily decision‑making to ensure training is both evidence‑informed and adaptable to the demands of the season.
Working collaboratively with the broader performance and medical teams, the Strength & Conditioning Coach contributes to a unified approach that optimizes player readiness, reduces injury risk, and supports efficient return‑to‑play processes. By fostering a dynamic and athlete‑centered training environment, this role ensures that players are consistently challenged, supported, and prepared to perform at their highest level.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement individualized strength and conditioning programs informed by testing data, training load, and seasonal periodization.
- Lead all team and individual strength and conditioning sessions, ensuring alignment with the club’s performance methodology and long‑term player development model.
- Utilize technology to monitor and enhance key performance qualities such as acceleration, maximal speed, and movement efficiency.
- Adapt training programs daily to meet athletes where they are at — considering readiness, recovery, and individual needs.
- Develop training plans with long‑term athletic development in mind, ensuring athletes are continually evolving across physical, technical, and performance domains.
- Collaborate closely with the performance and medical staff to integrate strength, rehabilitation, and return‑to‑play processes into a unified player management strategy.
- Support and contribute to the design and implementation of individualized pre‑training activation and recovery sessions aligned with team periodization.
- Conduct on‑field performance coaching, including position‑specific speed, agility, and movement sessions, as well as return‑to‑play reconditioning.
- Manage all aspects of the weight room environment, including equipment setup, maintenance, and safety standards.
- Lead or assist in conducting comprehensive physical testing protocols to monitor player strength, power, and fitness progress throughout the season.
- Collect, clean, and analyze performance data, transforming insights into actionable programming adjustments.
- Use team and individual performance data to identify areas for improvement and guide decisions around training load, recovery, and injury prevention.
- Support the development and maintenance of data systems and athlete monitoring technologies, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all platforms.
- Maintain detailed records of training loads, testing results, and player performance profiles to support longitudinal tracking and reporting.
- Stay current with the latest research, trends, and best practices in strength and conditioning, sport science, and athlete development.
- Foster an engaging and professional training environment that promotes athlete accountability, education, and growth.
- Assist with other duties as assigned to support the broader goals of the Performance Department and the club’s mission.
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field required;
