Job Description & How to Apply Below

Lead Coach – Glow Lacrosse

Glow Lacrosse is a premier pre‑season training platform for girls ages PreK‑K, 1‑4th, and 5‑6th, designed to prepare them for the spring season or a club tournament. We cover the basics, help girls work on consistency, progress at intermediate level, and most importantly make sure they have a really good time.

We complement town and club play, rather than compete with it. We are not a club. We run traditional 1‑hour clinics seasonally for 5 weeks, specialty skills clinics and 3‑v‑3 pick‑up clinics for girls 5‑6th, as well as many private lessons, and partner with towns to execute winter preseason when they lack coaches. We want our players to thrive in town and/or club lacrosse by building a solid foundation of basic skills, good habits, and strong character.

Lead

Coach Background Criteria

Current or former collegiate or high school athletes, seasoned and experienced youth coaches. For younger ages, lacrosse experience is not required.

This is an on‑site role based on the South Shore of Boston.

Responsibilities

Lead coaches are central to the GLOW experience. On the field, you run the session. Your presence, voice, and hands‑on coaching set the tone and pace for the entire class. Working with young athletes requires immediate connection to maintain engagement. Players, parents, and assistant coaches take cues from you, so clear communication, strong organization, and confident leadership are essential.

You collaborate with Caroline to plan, organize and develop engaging and FUN practice plans each week, tailored to the age level, to develop skills, character and confidence of players. Duties include building relationships and engaging players & parents before and after each session, demonstrating familiarity with their daughter, reinforcing trust in the program, and supporting program growth. You are expected to follow up on any “business development” opportunities to introduce GLOW to local communities when appropriate.

Qualifications
  • Experience coaching, playing lacrosse at the highest level, and passion for coaching and working with kids.
  • Energetic, empowering & loud voice that commands the room.
  • College, post‑graduate coaching and former college/high school lacrosse standouts.
  • Strong knowledge in player skill development, strategic game planning, and coaching techniques.
  • Ability to engage a large audience of young players to ensure classes run smoothly and instruction is simple and comprehensive.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for mentoring players, parents and other coaches.
  • Organizational and time‑management skills to plan and execute effective training sessions.
  • Strong commitment to GLOW’s coaching philosophy: high player/coach engagement, discipline, listening, and promoting teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship among all players of all ages.
