Swimming Instructor at Parkwood Leisure

• Deliver group and one-to-one lessons to a variety of ages and abilities as part of our Learn to Swim Programme, following the Swim England’s Learn to Swim Framework.
• Deliver at least one crash course during the year within the Learn to Swim Programme.
• Deliver high‑quality lessons inline with the company’s expected standards and schemes of work.
• Deliver the company’s internal water safety competencies “Swim Safer, Smarter, Stronger”.
• Deliver both in‑and out‑of‑the‑water instructions, providing explanations and demonstrating appropriate swimming techniques for each skill level.
• Carry out continued assessments and update the child’s progression via the tablet after each lesson.
• Adhere to all health and safety protocols as stipulated in the company’s policies and procedures.
• Must hold an NRASTC qualification and lifeguard own sessions when subject to local NOP/EAP.
• Continue professional development through various CPDs hosted by the company.
• Maximise the retention of swim school participants through quality standards, motivation and customer care.
• Ensure strong communication links between yourself, the swim manager, reception and duty management.
• Be passionate about constantly improving the swim lesson programme and bettering our service to swimmers and customers.

• SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification.
• SEQ Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification or equivalent.
• NPLQ or NRASTC.

• Communicate well with both children and adults in a teaching setting.
• Gain acceptance and respect from colleagues and customers.
• Build strong relationships with customers, colleagues and teachers.
• Meet the demands of the role by having some flexibility in working hours when required.

The position of Swimming Teacher is classed as a regulated post and therefore requires a DBS Disclosure. It will be necessary for the post holder to be submitted for a DBS check.
