Our construction division, Washington Construction, specializes in residential and light commercial remodeling, renovations, and additions with a focus on quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction & Remodeling Estimator to join our team. This role is critical in preparing accurate bids, ensuring profitability, and supporting our growth in the construction and remodeling market.
What You’ll Do- Review project plans, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential and light commercial remodeling projects (kitchens, bathrooms, additions, tenant improvements, etc.).
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and take measurements.
- Create material takeoffs, labor breakdowns, and subcontractor cost comparisons.
- Solicit, review, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor quotes.
- Develop written proposals and present them to clients in a clear, professional manner.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure estimates align with field execution.
- Track costs and adjust estimating strategies based on project performance.
- Previous experience required:
Minimum 3 years in construction estimating (remodeling, residential, or light commercial). - Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and remodeling processes.
- Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office (Excel required).
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Strong math and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
