Job Title:
Crew Lead Tree Climber
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Crew Lead Tree Climber to join our team at Washington Tree Services. As a Crew Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of climbers on tree care projects, ensuring the safe completion of tasks, and maintaining high standards of quality work. This is a full-time position that offers competitive pay, excellent benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of 2-3 arborists on tree care projects, including pruning, trimming, removals, and other services
- Develop and implement safety plans to ensure crew members' well-being during work hours
- Conduct pre-job briefings with the crew to review tasks, discuss potential hazards, and assign responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce adherence to company policies and procedures
- Provide guidance and support to team members on climbing techniques, tree identification, and equipment operation
- Troubleshoot issues and make decisions on-the-fly to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency
- Communicate effectively with clients, dispatchers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
- Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and company policies
5+ years of experience as a tree climber or crew lead in the arboriculture industry
- ISAR (International Society of Arboriculture) or equivalent certification (not required but good to have)
- Valid Washington State Driver's License
- Reliable vehicle for transportation to job sites
- Ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 75 pounds regularly
- Experience with chainsaws, wood chippers, and other climbing equipment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Frequent travel to job sites, which may require long hours on the road
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends as needed
