Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day invoice processing and payment activities for a Contract position based in Boulder, Colorado. This opportunity is ideal for someone who brings strong experience in accounts payable operations, works accurately in a fast-paced setting, and is comfortable using Yardi to manage financial transactions. The person in this role will help maintain timely vendor payments, ensure coding accuracy, and contribute to organized, compliant payment workflows.

Responsibilities:

- Process a high volume of vendor invoices with close attention to accuracy, completeness, and approval status.

- Assign proper general ledger and account codes to invoices before entry and payment processing.

- Use Yardi to enter, review, and maintain accounts payable records and supporting documentation.

- Prepare and coordinate ACH payments and check runs according to established schedules and internal controls.

- Reconcile invoice details against purchase records, contracts, or supporting backup to resolve discrepancies.

- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to answer payment questions and follow up on outstanding items.

- Maintain organized financial records to support audits, reporting needs, and month-end close activities. Requirements - Previous experience in an accounts payable role with hands-on responsibility for invoice processing and payment execution.

- Proficiency with Yardi is required for success in this position.

- Strong understanding of invoice coding, account coding, and accounts payable best practices.

- Experience handling ACH transactions and coordinating check runs accurately and on schedule.

- Ability to review financial details carefully and identify discrepancies or missing information.

- Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders.
